The campsite

Beach camping or panoramic views?

Camp close to the beach, in the hills or near our service facilities! We offer you a wide range of options. We have almost 300 seats. They are divided into areas named after Danish kings and historical figures. More than 80 % of our pitches have a view of the sea. So during your stay at Gammelmark Strand Camping you have a good chance of enjoying the view across the water to the Düppeler Mühle and the town of Sonderburg.

You can find an overview map of the site here.

Motorhome parking space / Quick-stop

Arrive late, continue travelling early.

We have six reasonably priced quick-stop motorhome pitches.

The area is located outside the campsite entrance, so you can park your motorhome outside opening hours and report to reception when we open. If you know in advance that you will be arriving outside opening hours, you can call us on +45 74 44 17 42 and we will find a solution.

Arrival must be after 7 pm and departure before 11 am. The offer is only valid for two people per unit.

The perfect solution for a short stay, or as a base for exploring Sønderjylland. You can find out more about the sights in our area and Sønderjylland here.

Kong Frederik

Open space near the beach

Area F

This area is named after King Frederik IX, the naval king and father of our former queen. He spent the summers with his family at Gråsten Castle. He often visited Gammelmark from here. Read more about it here!

Many of our motorhome guests prefer pitches in this area. You can camp wherever you like here. You only need to maintain the prescribed minimum distance of three metres between the units.

A good place for groups traveling together, as it is usually possible to camp close together or right next to each other.

Dronning Dagmar

Area D

Holger Danske

Place close to the beach

Area H

Close to our main building and reception you will find the area named after Holger Danske, the legendary hero and protector of Denmark.

The parking spaces are located on a flat area with hedges. This makes the area the closest thing to a “normal” campsite. Most of the pitches are surrounded by hedges and offer plenty of sun and good protection from the wind. You can see the beautiful sunset from here all summer long, and the area is right next to the fields.

From here, your children are not far from one of our bouncy cushions and the three playgrounds nearby.

Gorm den Gamle

Space in the middle

Area G

Gorm den Gamle was one of the first Danish kings and father of Harald Bluetooth.

Our smallest square area is named after him. At the same time, this is the area that is best suited for those who are not so good on foot. It is located close to our main building with bathroom/WC, kitchen, laundry room, TV room, kiosk and reception. A pretty, peaceful and sheltered spot, close to three playgrounds.

Dronning Margrethe

Terrace with panoramic view

Area M

King Frederik IX, after whom an area of the square is also named, had three daughters. One of them is the former Queen of Denmark, Queen Margrethe II. This area is named after her.

This square is divided into terraces and is located on a large hill. From here you definitely have the most beautiful view of the Düppeler Mühle and Sonderburg. The parking spaces in this area are very large – at least 100 m² per unit. All pitches have water and waste water connections.

From the eastern part of the area, it is close to our largest playground, the soccer pitch and the enclosure with the dwarf goats.

Erik Ejegod

Large terrace area

Area E

Erik Ejegod was King of Denmark from 1095 to 1103.

In the area named after him you will find new, large comfort seats. The pitches are located close to the swimming pool and our largest playground. The area is also right next to our largest service building. Here you will find, among other things, the large communal kitchen, with the large barbecue area right next door.

The pitches on Erik Ejegod are our largest. Most of the spaces are larger than 150 m². Each unit has its own electricity connection, water tap and waste water connection.

Free WLAN

At Gammelmark, you can stay close to the ones at home while on vacation with our free Wi-Fi. You will receive a Wi-Fi code upon check-in and from there on, you have unlimited access.

Unfortunately we can’t promise you high speed connection during weeks where we are fully booked.

Electricity

You can get electricity on all our pitches, billed according to actual consumption.

When you check in, you will receive a card that you can top up with credit for our electricity tapping points. The same card is also used for the barrier at the driveway, for the family bathroom, the swimming pool and the laundry room. You can find out more about our service facilities here and about the swimming pool here.

If you need an adapter to use our power outlets, you can borrow one from reception on arrival. Our power sockets use CEE plugs.

Dogs are welcome

At Gammelmark Strand Camping we love dogs – we even have an office dog. However, we do have a few rules for our four-legged friends.

We ask for your understanding that not all our guests share the same enthusiasm for dogs as we do. We would therefore like to point out that dogs must always be kept on a leash on our premises. It is also your responsibility to clean up your dog’s droppings – please make sure you pick them up.

If you remember this tiny set of rules, we might have a treat for your dog in the reception. We can’t wait to say hi!
